  10.    system alive you must consider registering the programs you use.

  13.    additional benefits from the author.  These benefits differ from author
  14.    to author and come in various forms ranging from enhanced versions to

  76.         What is Compression?

  78.         Because of the costs of distributing Shareware authors and vendors
  79.   alike have had to find ways of minimizing costs.  Computer file
  80.   compression refers to reducing file sizes so they take up less storage
  81.   space on disk.  There are several utilities on the market that will
  82.   perform compression on files, they are: PKZIP, ARC, PAK, LHARC, etc.

  84.         The Simple Series has standardized its library using PKZIP and
  85.   PKUNZIP (decompression utility) as the product of choice.  We have done
  86.   this simply to make it easier on you are valued customer.

  138.         Instructions for running your programs will always be supplied in
  139.    the documentation that is supplied on disk.  However, to run most
  140.    programs you need simply to look for files with the following extensions:
  141.    .BAT   .EXE   .COM.  These are the most common extensions and will
  142.    indicate that the file is an executable file.  To run one of these
  143.    programs just type the filename and then press enter.

  145.         To find what files are on the disk issue the command DIR, then
  146.    look for the executable extensions.
  147.  
  148.         Once you have found a file with an executable file extension
  149.    type that filename and then press ENTER and you should be on your way.
